Mi nombre es Rogelio Enrique Carles Rosas (Roy) y nací y me crié en Panamá. Ahí obtuve mi Licenciatura en Comunicación Social y luego viajé a Toronto, Canadá donde completé la carrera de Animación Tradicional en el Sheridan College en 1993
Trabaje unos años en animación en Canadá y en 1996, el destino me trajo a Wellington, Nueva Zelandia, para participar en la serie de Animación de Hairy McLary, un perrito muy popular en Nueva Zelandia. Después de unos años mi vida dio otra vuelta inesperada y pasé a la ilustración freelance y y a ser profesor de baile en Salsa. Así tuve la oportunidad de compartir con este nuevo país todas las experiencias que de niño había acumulado en el baile y la celebración de desfiles de Carnaval que empezé a promover en Wellington.
Nací y me crié rodeado de música, baile, carnavales, color y muchas personas queridas que me regalaron hermosas memorias que hoy me sirven de inspiración.
Me apasiona desarrollar personajes y crear historias para comunicar ideas y conceptos con humor y así seguir fomentando ese niño que siempre llevamos dentro.

ENGLISH:

My name is Rogelio Enrique Carles Rosas and I was born and raised in Panamá. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communication there and later travelled to Toronto, Canada where I obtained a diploma of Classical Animation at Sheridan College in 1993.
I worked in Animation for a few years in Toronto and in 1996 destiny brought me to Wellington, New Zealand to work as an animator on the Hairy Maclary video series, a well known New Zealand children character.
After a few years, life took another unexpected turn and I started working as a freelance illustrator and a Salsa dance teacher, which I have enjoyed greatly and this has given me the opportunity to share all my experiences gathered throughout my life and my upbringing in Panama.
I grew up surrounded by music, dancing, Mardi Grass, color and lovely people that gave me beautiful memories that today are my inspiration.
I love creating characters and stories to communicate ideas and concepts with humor so we can keep alive that children inside us.
